Kesha Young Scholarship Application Instructions

Thank you for your interest in the Kesha Young Health Scholarship Program at Mission Health. The 2024 Cycle is now closed. This page will be updated in 2025 with new dates and application form. Please check back.

The following qualifications must be met:

  • You must qualify as a member of an underrepresented minority group as defined by state and federal guidelines, i.e. American Indian or Alaskan Native, Asian Underrepresented (Bangladeshi, Cambodian, Hmong, Indonesian, Laotian, Malaysian, Nepalese, Pakistani, Si Lankan and Vietnamese), Black or African-American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or Other Island Pacific Islander.
  • Certify and maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Pursuing a field of study for a career in healthcare
  • Demonstrated interest in future employment at Mission Health
  • Completing high school or a GED program prior to June 30th, 2024
  • If you have ever worked for Mission Health, you must be re-hire eligible and not in corrective action
  • You may not be a physician*, or an immediate family member of a physician*

Notification of scholarship selection status will be made by May 3rd, 2024.

Scholarship funds will be written to the College/University to be applied to Fall 2024 Tuition.

Scholarship Awardees will be invited to attend a Scholarship Reception at Mission Hospital on Wednesday June 5th, 2024.

* Physician means any person who is a doctor of medicine or osteopathy, a doctor of dental surgery or dental medicine, a doctor of podiatric medicine, a doctor of optometry, or chiropractor, licensed by a jurisdiction within the United States. The term “Physician” includes without limitation any person who is an Immediate Family Member of a person described in the immediately preceding sentence.

** Immediate Family Member of a person means that person’s husband or wife; birth or adoptive parent, child, or sibling; stepparent, stepchild, stepbrother, or stepsister; father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law; grandparent or grandchild; grandparent’s or grandchild’s spouse.

Scholarship amount varies depending on volume and strength of applicant pool, and may not be the same amount each year for returning scholars.
