Tests and scans for better breast health
We are committed to screening and treating women for breast-related conditions. Here are some of the screening options we provide:
- 3D Mammography unit: By producing a three-dimensional image of the breast, a 3D mammogram allows our board-certified radiologists to clearly see the interior of the breast. Additionally, a 3D mammogram can be used to look for cancer even if you don't have signs or symptoms.
- Automated Breast Ultrasound Screening (ABUS): Approximately 40 percent of women have dense breast tissue, which makes it difficult to detect problem areas. The ABUS can be used as a supplemental screening for women with dense breasts and can reveal cancer that's hiding in the mammogram images.
- Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA): The DEXA scan is an imaging test that measures bone density. It's a helpful tool for individuals who have received a breast cancer diagnosis.
- Diagnostic targeted ultrasound: Unlike the ABUS, a targeted ultrasound scans specific areas of concern in breast tissue.
- MRI: An MRI is a test for detecting breast cancer. MRIs can be performed with mammography as a screening tool.
- Mammograms: Mammograms can be used to check for breast cancer in women who aren't showing any signs or symptoms. This X-ray examination of the breast tissue can be an uncomfortable experience, which is why our compassionate specialists work to help you to feel at ease.
