Adult Volunteer Program
We are delighted that you are interested in joining the Mission Hospital Volunteer Team. Mission Volunteers are vital to providing our patients and their families with an exceptional experience. Volunteers serve in a variety of roles positively impacting patient experience, supplementing the outstanding work done by staff, and supporting Mission team members.

High School Volunteer Program
The High School Volunteer program provides an opportunity for students 16-18 years old to serve others and gain familiarity with healthcare setting. Examples of Volunteer Roles include Guest Services desks, compiling and stocking supplies.

Junior Volunteer Program at Mission Hospital
We are delighted you are interested in participating in the Junior Summer Volunteer Program for high school students. The four-week summer program provides an opportunity for young people to serve others in a meaningful way and gain experience in a healthcare setting.
Junior Volunteer applications for the Summer 2026 Program will be accepted February 1st - March 6th.
There are limited positions available for applicants in our 2026 program, please apply early.
Junior Volunteer eligibility requirements
- Applications are open to students 14 to 18 years old. Students must be at least 14 years old by June 1, 2026, to be considered for the 2026 Summer Program.
- Applicants must have two positive references from teachers from your current school. Applicants will provide contact information and Volunteer Services requests references. References must be received by March 20.
- Applicants selected for an in-person interview must have availability for weekday interviews scheduled between March 9-31, 2026.
Students selected for the 2026 Summer Junior Volunteer Program will:
- Attend mandatory Volunteer/Parent Information Session. Both the volunteer and a parent/caretaker must attend one information session. Sessions will be held on: Monday, May 18 or Wednesday, May 20 from 6:00pm-7:00pm
- Complete Vaccination Screening by May 29: Mission policy requires all team members, including volunteers, to be current on MMR, varicella, TDAP and flu vaccines, as well as having a TSPOT test to screen for tuberculosis. Accepted volunteers will be referred to Mission Employee Health for screening. There will be no expense to the volunteer.
- Attend mandatory orientation: Junior Volunteer Orientation will be held on Wednesday, June 24 from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
- Meet weekly attendance expectation: The Summer 2026 Program will run from July 6 - July 30 (Monday through Thursday each week). Accepted volunteers must be available to volunteer on a set schedule, two days per week (either a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday schedule) 9:00am to 3:00pm for each of the four weeks of the program. To be awarded a certificate of completion, participants must attend each day of their assigned sessions. Due to the short duration of the program participants will not be able to make up missed days. Check your vacation and camp schedules before you apply.
Volunteer eligibility requirements
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Submit to a criminal background screening
- Comply with the current Mission Immunization Policy, which includes verification of Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity; Varicella immunity; Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) vaccine; Tuberculosis Blood Test (Tspot) screening; and an annual Influenza vaccine. Mission will provide required immunizations to applicants at no charge.
- Be available to serve a requested 70 hours of service over four months (most volunteer roles need a commitment of a weekly, half-day shift)
