Mental health services we offer
Behavioral health struggles do not discriminate based on age or quality of life. These types of problems can affect you as a child, as an adult or even as a senior. As such, we provide care to all who need it.
Types of treatment we provide
Our team of experienced and compassionate physicians, social workers, behavioral health technicians, patient care technicians and therapists work with you or your loved one on an individual level, offering confidential assessments to help determine a proper course of treatment.
Once this has been established, we immediately begin work rooted in holistic, whole-person care. Our hope is to truly see you, teach you how to be well, how to heal and how to take care of yourself. This is achieved through focused, personalized psychiatric treatment, as well as a combination of other supportive therapies, including:
- Art and music therapy
- Gardening
- Pet therapy
- Physical activity, including basketball
- Yoga and mindfulness practices
After you have left our care, we also offer telepsych and crisis services that can be accessed at hospitals, primary care offices or at home.
Features of Sweeten Creek Mental Health and Wellness Center
Our 84,000 square foot facility in Asheville offers 120 beds for both acute inpatient and outpatient care. To get admitted, you must first undergo a medical screening from one of our emergency physicians to confirm conditional stability. Once this has been established, you or your loved one would be recommended a transfer to more longtime care in Asheville.
With separate and secure units for children, adolescents, adults and seniors, each age-appropriate unit has its own private outdoor courtyard, as well as a “psych-safe playground” for kids, basketball court for adults and an outdoor walking trail for seniors.
Our overall goal is to use our various treatment methods to get you stabilized and through your crisis, before acquiring support in the community so you can thrive at home, rather than in the hospital.
Please call (828) 213-4696 to schedule your assessment today. If you're experiencing an emergency and you’re worried about your own or a loved one's safety, call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room immediately.
