Features of the Mission Burn and Wound Center
At the burn center at Mission Hospital, the burn care unit includes ample space for healing. They offer 14 exam rooms, hydrotherapy care, and both physical and occupational therapy. They also provide two highly specialized types of burn care:
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) — HBOT increases your skin's oxygen intake to promote more swift, complete healing of burned tissue and damaged skin.
- Regenerative therapy — Also known as growth factor (GF) therapy, this treatment involves the topical application of substances that promote new cell growth while healing damaged ones.
