2023 Kesha Young Scholarship Application Instructions
Thank you for your interest in the Kesha Young Health Scholarship Program at Mission Health. For questions about the process, contact NCDV.ScholarshipMailbox@hcahealthcare.com.
Scholarship amount varies depending on volume of applicants, and may not be the same amount each year for returning scholars.
The following qualifications must be met:
- You must qualify as a member of an underrepresented minority group as defined by state and federal guidelines, i.e. American Indian or Alaskan Native, Asian Underrepresented (Bangladeshi, Cambodian, Hmong, Indonesian, Laotian, Malaysian, Nepalese, Pakistani, Si Lankan and Vietnamese), Black or African-American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or Other Island Pacific Islander.
- Certify and maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Pursuing a field of study for a career in healthcare
- Demonstrated interest in future employment at Mission Health
- Completing high school or a GED program prior to June 30th, 2023
- If you have ever worked for Mission Health, you must be re-hire eligible and not in corrective action
- You may not be a physician*, or an immediate family member of a physician*
Please complete and submit the following
- Completed application: Online Form below
- An official, sealed copy of your most recent high school or college/university transcript
- Two letters of recommendation (not needed if reapplying- ALL other items must still be submitted)
- An interview and/or additional references may be required

Notification of scholarship selection status will be made by May 2023.
Scholarship funds will be written to the College/University to be applied to Fall 2023 Tuition.
Selected recipients will be invited to attend a Scholarship Reception at Mission Hospital on June 7t, 2023 - attendance is encouraged!
* Physician means any person who is a doctor of medicine or osteopathy, a doctor of dental surgery or dental medicine, a doctor of podiatric medicine, a doctor of optometry, or chiropractor, licensed by a jurisdiction within the United States. The term “Physician” includes without limitation any person who is an Immediate Family Member of a person described in the immediately preceding sentence.
** Immediate Family Member of a person means that person’s husband or wife; birth or adoptive parent, child, or sibling; stepparent, stepchild, stepbrother, or stepsister; father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law; grandparent or grandchild; grandparent’s or grandchild’s spouse.
The 2023 Kesha Young Scholarship Application period has CLOSED effective 5:00PM April 14th 2023. Check back in March of 2024 for new application instructions. This application form is currently closed for submissions.
